P52 Week #30: Mr. Sunshine

I guess a good thing about living in a small town

is that you don't have to drive far to be

out in the middle of no where.

:)

It takes mad skills to be able to take some

awesome pics while driving 50 mph. Muahahaha!

See this super cute horse pasture?

Guess who owns it???

The prison systems!! In their spare time, I guess the prisoners

breed horses.  I'd never seen uber pregger horses until I

started using this highway to get to Kate's house.

P.S. There are eleven units in the Huntsville area.

Also on the way to Kate's house?

This awesome sign is at the red light.

I most certainly guffawed upon first glance.

WE NEED YOU! YES, YOU!

Kind of reminds me of Uncle Sam.

But yes, if you ride in my car, you wear a seatbelt.  It's the rule. MHM.

P52 Week #29: Movie Party

You know what Summer time means?

Time for blockbusters!

I am super lucky.  Yep! The little movie theater in Huntsville costs
only $5!!  And $3 for matinees!!

Read 'em and weep.

Makes for a super cheap and fun outing.  Especially when I
sneak in salt water taffy in my purse. ;)

Brave was soooooo good! I was so excited for the first Pixar female lead.

Guess who saw Brave two days in row??

First with Carissa and Rachel, the roomies.  Then with Ryan (because guys can't see little kid movies alone, hahahha).

Hollah!

But I can't find the soundtrack ANYWHERE. I want the actual album.  From an actual store.  Is that too much to ask? I NEED it.

Oh dear, I do believe Spiderman became my favorite super hero in 8th grade.

I love him!

I was a little scared about this redo, but when I saw it
with Ryan and Kevin...

I loved this version so much better!!

The actor is better.  The effects are better.  The acting all around is better.

Emma Stone is the coolest gal to roam these lands.

My only complaint is the soundtrack.

I lived off of the soundtracks from the other movies.

But this one was only instrumental.  Sad day.  Oh well!

P52 Week #28: Summer Treats

Hey remember how I kill things... particularly plants? If you don't, read and witness here.  Oh boy, it wasn't pretty.

My dear mother learned her lesson after the incident with the tulips from my class ring ceremony and gave me balloons for my LDS Institute of Religion graduation.

"Okay, Savannah. You see this balloon? It has a special sealer, so it should last at least 3 weeks.  Much longer than one week."

Oh! I was such a good mother to my balloons! The big princess balloon lasted at least 5 weeks and still fightin' strong!

My friend, Martin, thought this whole episode of "Savannah kills things" just too much.  He stole my flower pot and declared that he would make me fake flowers of some sort that would last longer.  He believed that no flowers could stand a chance against my incompetency.

A week or so goes by... where's my flower pot, Martin?

And this I get back from out of town and find this in my apartment...

Hahaha...Okay, thanks.

But aren't they gorgeous!? And I'm happy to report, it's been two weeks and they're very much alive!!

But they did scare me for a bit.  I thought the plant was dying, because it sheds flowers like no other.  Everywhere.

But it's alive and kicking!

Thank you!

P52 Week #26: School's Out

Now that school is mostly out (yay for Summer school! :/),

I have been working at a pool as a lifeguard.

And not only do we guard lives, but we clean and maintain the pool as well.

There are two things that make this difficult beyond measure:

1. Our investation of ants

and

2. the onslaught of Crape Myrtle tree blossoms.

Smart people from the neighborhood builders planted EIGHT Crape
Myrtle trees surrounding the pool.  Everytime the wind blows, we have to skim the whole pool.

And I'm pretty sure all these ants are planning to take over the world.  They have impressive war skills.  They are everywhere and get into everything.

So many many blossoms...

Sometimes after I skim the pool, I feel like the trees are mocking me saying:
"There's more where that came from!"

And then 10 minutes later, you can't tell I skimmed.

Imagine a big gust of wind that makes thousands of blossoms blow over the water...

Now imagine tiny little screams from the kids in the shallow end...

"It's snowing! It's snowing!"

haha, made my day.

Hmm, here's another cluster.

Wait. What is that?

Oh goodness, taking over the land wasn't good enough.

Now these buggers are conquering the high seas.

hahahahaha...

Argh, matey!

I was so excited to find a merging of the great pains of my job.
Making up for it. A little. haha

I still don't understand how this happened...

Poor guy. I think he's lost.
